Staged In Shadowed Pain

Stage One

In blanket warmth
'twas yesterday
white kisses fluttered
here and there

Swirling crystals
lit by moon
carried whispers
everywhere

Her ~velvet eyes~
in want of him
moved her closer,
looking out

Watched for footprints
in the deep
when seeing none,
began her pout

Crying softly
window gazed
upon the roof,
she captured "awe"

Pressed warm against
the cold of glass
etched messages
in frosted wall

Her ~velvet eyes~
noticed the steps
lit up and glowed,
a smiling face

She wiped the tears
that stained her cheeks
prepared herself
for his embrace

Slowly turned
she walked away
floating graceful,
satin red

Eyes were watching
from behind
through shadows, trailed her
to the bed

Reaching up
released the straps
then dropped her gown,
fell to the floor

Silent words
then entered room,
with hidden face,
he closed the door

Her ~ velvet eyes~
could not contain
the happiness,
of pounding heart

Towards each, they moved
until the touch
electrified, each
felt the spark

The two had met
in full of moon,
when kisses dropped

Soft and white
had touched them so
their love for each
had never stopped

But one is free
the other not
time has slipped
away again

He leaves each night
his blanket warm
not looking back
in shadowed pain...

Stage Two

A fantasy
with slight of real
had been her life
for quite awhile

But "now" becomes
the shadowed pain
to enter, leaving
crooked smile

This time it's she
whose watching eyes
continue, hurt
pain evident

Each visit met
proves more and more
the loss of love
as hate ferments

No hopes and dreams
no fantasies
can fill the the empty
heart inside

For only truth
in shadowed pain
confronts her daily,
"life has lied"

She now rests
so wearily
~velvet eyes~ now
dulled, tears reign

And in the myst
of morning's rise
she walks the shadows
in darkened pain...

Maureen - I'm sorry this is an autobiography - it was written wonderfully well.  The pain it evokes is almost palpable.
