A Nocturne It's the vagueness that vail my way And nights the sunlight of my day Winds and flickers my candle light And pales the edges of my bright. Stills my hand to open the door Of eternities evermore. Lets my consciousness fly about In fog and mist and lonely doubt. It's funny how a mind can yearn Turn dreaming into sweet nocturne Bring things that really cannot be Into a lovely fantasy. To the grave stones pointing the sky And future ones of yet to lie I give the thread within my head That ties the living to the dead. It's the candle that you burn Not the fantasy you yearn. |
