another storm
like so many others
but, somehow,
this one was different...

the clouds gathered early
and lingered all day
casting heavy shadows
upon my soul

the thunder sang it's
song of sorrow
as lightening carved
deep wounds
into my fragile heart

the difference...
this time it rained

as night fell
and i was left in solitude
the clouds began to burst-
a few drops at first
and then an endless flood

the floodwaters flowed
through the desolate valleys
of my soul-
washing away the debris
and replacing it with
sparkling rivers of life
abundant with hopes
and dreams

just another storm...
no-
this one was different-
so very different

Vicky~

'the difference...
this time it rained'

When it rains from your heart ...
it's the most refreshing kind of storm.
For when it's over ... there's a rainbow of hope.

I found this back here, and am sad to see there aren't more replies to it.  This was fantastic! I LOVED IT!!

the floodwaters flowed
through the desolate valleys
of my soul-
washing away the debris
and replacing it with
sparkling rivers of life
abundant with hopes
and dreams

Most excellent, so this is going back to the top where it belongs!    Nothing like a great storm to blow through and leave us washed with river of hopes and dreams! Very well stated!!!

beautiful, and your so right sometimes we need rain to wash us and refresh us unlike a storm with lightning that strikes and causes so many marks.

Superb penning and I loved the way you did one verse in nature and the other in your soul seperated by the colors to show the reflection of you in the other

Vicky,
This is so well written, very creative, and well presented. There are so many wonderful lines here, I will just say that I loved the whole poem. I've had trouble opening the reply post to your poems, so now that I finally succeeded, let me just say that all three are wonderful, "I Call it Love", and "green eyed Monster as well
