~It's the silence that scares me on nights like this~

Soft wind tapping at my window
no light from the hall
fresh pillowcase cradling my head
catching tears as they fall
silent nights like this
only make me fear
that she has found her peace
far away from here.

SpitFire~

This is surely a longing.
Beautifully rendered.
Sometimes the silence embraces us
with memory's sad recall.
