Craving You

Sitting on the edge of a cliff,
holding hands lightly,
legs dangling,
that lucid blue sky,
high upon a green mesa,
forever views.

I feel you radiating,
you sit very still,
my legs bounce against the ledge.
Though we discuss benign topics,
something stirs within,
undercurrent of want.

We stand, walk the desert trail,
down, down to the dry wash below.
You speak of ancient peoples,
I think of making love.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy....Have I been down THAT trail!     Corinne, I always love to read your works because it's as if you write from all your many travels, and vacations!  I get to taste every place you've been, just by reading!  I've seen some really exotic places through your eyes!  Thank you...this piece really likes me, because of it's simplicity in that while "he" is talking intellectually, "you" are thinking romantically...   How many times have I stared into a man's face while he rambles on with "knowledge", all the while pretending to be listening, when really, I'm staring at his lips, dying to kiss them, or just touch his face.   Aaaahhhh...now see?  Look what you've gone and made me do....I'm daydreaming.  (sigh) * Beautiful piece Corinne.

Denise, thank you, I appreciate the fact that you take the time to comment on the works of so many.

PoetFemmeFatale, LOL! Thanks so much, I'm glad to see you can relate to this so well!  It's interesting how different men and women are, although men claim to be the ones thinking about sex all the time!  HA!  Are they ever wrong!

Marge,
you're a sweetie.

The things you learn at this site. So the secret is to talk endlessly about intellectual topics........
This is another one of your wonderful journeys Corinne, with that sweetened taste of desire. Now I'm wishing to be invited on one of these excursions, I didn't know they could be so intellectually stimulating.

Corinne,

Thank you.

Craving You, Too

On the edge of this cliff,
sounds from another age -
another presence -
are lit by luscious blue
and living table.

Ancient thoughts
of wisdom and simplicity
are brought into focus,
into one tight beam
of peace.

A hot breeze is stirred
and works its way up to us,
paralleling an inner stirring
of growing warmth.

We stand,
begin to retrace our steps
down along the path of the breeze.
I share some of my thoughts
as we descend
into the peaceful warmth
of our yearnings.

Splendidly worded. I like this a lot as I recall those days myself. Oh the thought of making love! Peace. ACT.

Corinne,

Very well written.  I could see your legs dangling and bouncing against the edge.  And the last two lines... GREAT!

(Haleyja, thanks for bringing it back.  I missed it the first time.)
