She stands alone again
skin like frosted mornings
hair a wild expression
of beauty not fortold.

She stare out across the hills
she climbed
to distant memories
and forgotton kisses.

She holds her past in her eyes
and all the colours of the rainbow glimmer
in the pupils, all the desire shes ever felt
is worn in her sad face.

She sheds a tear of regret
and feels the warmth of it track
down her face
to wet cracked lips
and moisten a bleeding soul.

She has lost
time and time again
She's paid the cost
time and time again.

She's loved
and seen it wither
She's hated
and seen the flame of anger
flicker and fade within her.

Her beauty is given
and all who see her are truly
spellbound,earthbound,
moved by the gentle strength
she wears like armour around her.

She stands alone again,
and watches the day pass away,
evening beckons to her,
with the promise of cold
loneliness once more.

Without a word
she starts back down
to face the empty place
fates made for her,
and she smiles to herself
as she walks,
for fate is but another word
for her choices she has made.

A very interesting read...I believe that we have control of our choices but we do not have control over the consequences of our choices. We can make a choice this very moment but who know what the future holds...hopefully the better the choices the better our future.   James

Fool~
With lovely longing thoughts like this,
I'd say you're nobody's 'fool'.

This is an intriguing piece of fine writing.
Touching deep .. someone's soul.
Glad you shared it with us.
