Misinterpreted

Where do words go
when they leave
my mind
too reach another's?
Does my true essence
follow
or does it get lost
along the way?
Is everything I say
misinterpreted
and dissected
into particles of emptiness?
Can a friendship
be simply ruined
over a misunderstanding
of my communicated words?
How can I reach
what doesn't
want to be reached?
How can I be heard
if sound barriers
are built
to keep out my voice?

This is written for someone here who is shuting me out right now, or so it seems.

Sounds like "Women are from Venus
and Men are from Mars"
A great book to read, Lost Dreamer.
Thought provoking poem.

I don't think the meaning is totally lost. Just subject to their own interpretations due to their experiences, feelings, etc..

Hi! Lostdreamer,
We all have little disagreements sometimes. That's what makes this place a family. Give this person time and then things will get back to normal.
I know it is probably about your child abuse post. I didn't agree with the things you said but I can understand where you were coming from.
So just give it a little time and things will be ok.

All my love,
Jeffrey

netswan: Thanks for reading and responding, have not read that book yet.

cuddlez: Thanks for reading, and yes you are right, sometimes my mind does not think it just acts.

Danny: Thanks for reading

Denise: Thanks for reading and replying, I'm not always sure what comes through, I sometimes think I just don't know how to communicate.

Jeffery: Thanks for reading, and I am sorry that so many really misunderstood what I was trying to say in the poem you refer too. I guess I really should have just not said anything.

Yes, good questions!
I have often wondered the same...I know how you feel.
I like the way you expressed this LD!
Now I'm off to read this other poem you speak of!

I have been i that place, it is so frustrating! I think your poem said it very well and I would encourage you to share it with this person in your life at some point

Hi, It's me again. You have every right to say whatever you feel like saying. You just stepped on a few toes is all. This is a very touchy subject for alot of us. That's why you got so many negative replies.
Just give it some time to cool off and I'm sure things will get back to normal. Or as normal as it ever was anyway...lol

All my love,
Jeffrey
