               The sigh of why

When I was a young man and the sands were pink
I cancan through life and I did not think.
I ceased on the good and discarded the bad.
Laughed all the time and forgot about sad.

A wonderful clime of love and of friends.
A paradise of prime that seemed no end.
An epoch of phantoms and fantasies loan,
But things have changed and I'm now on my own.

The price of the piper are wrinkles and aches,
When you're out of the oven and fully baked.
You do not accept the signs that are you,
You look in the mirror and say it's not true.

This is the time we seek paradise lost,
Make fools of ourselves no matter the cost.
We venture the venture in fantasies dream.
And plunge head first into fast moving streams.

I cannot condone or wish you amen,
I can only say, I, would do it again.

Coolness. =)  If I had it to do over again teh only thing I'd do different is to take notes so that when my children are doing the things that my mom hated me doing so much, I'd be able to look back and remember from where they stand. =)  AS it is, I won't even remember, and will probably deny it if I do. =)

Getting old sucks doesn't it?

Lovely... absolutely lovely! As usual, your words ring with wisdom... your lines are well crafted... and you the reader is able to view the world through your eyes. Wonderful! Thank you for posting this.

Seymour~

My friend, this was delightful ...
but I'm sure you're only 'half-baked'.

Thank you for the tickle.

So true of life, my dear...

We grow sad, we see too much and the damage that is done doesn't seem to heal as well.
