In the space between moments

0 posted 2000-04-19 10:40 PM

A twinkle of distant dewdrops
Suspend within liquid dark
And flit upon withered memories
Where shadows make their mark.

Upon tattered emerald gleam
Teardrops gently streak
Hiding from silver sunrays
And the solace that I seek.

I wander among my yesterdays
Eyes falling to sandy ground
Moonlight holds no comfort
When saddened echoes sound.

Wind whispers hollow words
As lonely night consumes
And I slip on the facade
Of normalcy I assume.

The pulsing light of love
Lays weak within my soul
As among my withered memories
Hope silently sinks below.

Um, your writing are so "melancholy".  They are So beautiful, but so darn sad at the same time.  You are truly gifted, Krista I hope you see that.

Beautiful poem Krista, the despairing end note seems unlike you... You're always one to believe in love, it seems to me.  Great poem though, much enjoyed

Hey Krissa.

Very beautiful poem.  Like I lot of people, I can relate.  and I hope you are feeling better if you were sad when you wrote this, because you are the bestist in the world!  And you need to be happy happy happy!

Thank you all so much.

Abe-- I do believe in love quite a bit.  But even the strongest of souls doubt love at one point or another..

"upon tattered emerald gleam"

"Moonlight holds no comfort

Krista, this piece is so delicate, and the way you've expressed the dark descent of melancholia and futility gives it a very real and human quality. Wonderful writing.
