  Loving-room

These steps are magic
that take me inside
this open delicate room
where our worn tapestry hangs
splendid on the wall
and the floor hears us
and knows each placement’s sound
for listening is learned
and time creeps resonance into spaces
that we do not frame
until they are gone.

This place where
time is rearranged
chimes in breathing pure
tongue touched tenderness
as we fasten the warmth
and hang up all the measureless
flow of words that pass
between us soundless and serene
and see the room expanding
for all the openings are free
and staying is a diaphanous
graceful curve of us.

Not every living room is a loving room. Yours is beautiful, Martie...

psst...is that a "worn" tapestry?

Martie~
Your 'loving room' is beautiful.
How I admire the way you decorate it.

Oh, Martie, I love this one!  It makes me feel like you have just described OUR loving-room - (I like how you put that, too), and the last two lines float on wings of joy.
Exquisitely written.

Martie: I guess that means I was an over-stuffed armchair in another life..

As always, a pleasure and leaves me feeling so peaceful..
