The rose you gave me was in disguise
I saw the truth in your brown eyes
Pretending to be love's scarlet hue
The rose you gave me was goodbye blue

Accepting this gift and sweet kisses that lied
Iagain retreated to the place where Ihide
Taking a battered heart, that would never be fixed
To a place where blue roses could never exist

This is a neat poem. For a short poem, it's powerful and it says a lot.

So sad.  I felt like crying.  It actually reminds me of the Neil Diamond song: "Song Sung Blue".

Dear June,

beauty always seem to be coupled with tragedy... feel it in this poem that you write...
I like it, though
