This poem is about my father. He passed away from cancer when I was 6. I am now 18 and am becoming an adult in my own right, and I miss him now more than ever.

I only want to make you proud
to let you know that your daughter
is doing okay in this world
though she misses you everyday.
I know that you're looking down on me
guiding me through troubled times
watching over our family always
you are never too far from my heart.
When you left us, I was so young
didnt quite understand what death was
how was I to know, at age 6
that it would be so final?
I remember the tears I cried
the courage that I showed
I had to be there for my mother
had to let her see it would be okay.

Sometimes I get so envious
when I see other families together
two parents, two children...
that should have been us.
Why you were taken from me
will always remain a mystery
God had a bigger plan for you
a plan that left me behind.
So many questions...
but yet so few answers
everyday I pray that somewhere
someone will find a cure.
But until the day
that I see your face again
I will keep your legacy alive
because everytime I look in the mirror
I see a part of you...
and the memories live on.

i am so very stirred by this given verse., each line oozing such a depth of love and heartache
i am sure yes he is with you - i know the spirit world so very well.....and angels arrive in so many many ways..
inviting communion...

Each word written, is heard..and i feel blessed in reading your verse of tendermost offerings
love Titch
