A yellow leaf blew on the wind,
and from the corner of my eye,
I saw it on this Winters day.
For the mearest of a time,
I thought it was a butterfly.
But then I knew it only for
the gift it truly was.
A tiny glimpse of coming Spring
on this frosty Winters day.

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

ellie: Nice poem and any hint of spring is a welcome one. although, we have had a nearly snowless winter here.

Lovely. I saw a robin yesterday and then I realized that they never left this fall. Do you suppose they know something I don't? Love, Joyce
