One More Chance

~*Marge Tindal*~

This one is so easy
and I can tell you why
My 'thing to do' would be
to kiss my children one more time
before I die~

My mother passed in the mid-of-night
and though I'm sure she knew
I didn't have the chance to say,
one more I love you ~

One more kiss to send her
on her beyond trip
One more goodbye
forever sealed within my lips~

One more chance to say
what I know I'd said before
But, one more chance ...
just one more chance ...

Is a moment I would have implored~

So each day I try to honor her
with the impact she had on me
For without her love
I would not have been
the poet of me ~

~Dedicated to the beautiful memory of my mother~

~*~

Following a challenge left by Paladin,
I felt this piece would serve as my Mother's Day tribute~

I just read Pegasus' poem and then yours.  They were much alike in theme but you put a happier spin on yours.  Yes we would all like to have one more chance.  But we learn to make the best of it while we can.  Very nice Marge.  Love, Joyce

My mother passed in the mid-of-night

ditto...

I wish I would have stayed longer that night. But, I feel as though she waited until she was alone.

Thanks,
Melton
