The Hot Spring

Out in the desert, there's a spot
Where water, mineralized and hot,
Comes bubbling out a ridge of stone,
That's like a pile of bleaching bone.
It trickles down the channeled ways
Until it forms a pool that stays
As warm as breath upon your face,
Then vanishes without a trace
And when you bathe, the silt will rise,
That thickly on the bottom lies.
Upon your feet it feels like silk
And makes the water look like milk.
With not another soul around,
No better bathtub can be found.
A desert Venus one might be,
Arising from a sulphur sea!

Oh, it make me want to crawl right in there.  The sun is shining today, but it's almost down to freezing.  Joyce

This brought back memories of my grandmother going to a place like that to help ease her arthritis. Sounds like a good idea for my aching bones.

Songbird:  These hot springs are in Nevada on the Black Rock Desert.  You can find them of almost any temperature including boiling!
The one I wrote of, was just a perfect temp for bathing and soaking and it did help ease aches and pains.
