With the setting of the sun on the horizon again.
The dusk of the evening, once more, comes to an end.
The night draws a curtain down over the sky.
As the long sleepy shadows slowly fade and die.

Twinkling through the backdrop of the black endless dome.
The stars hold the secrets from so many unknown.
Lady moon sailing through boundless space
Elegantly glowing with beauty and grace.

The tranquil outpouring of her silver beams
Embraces and recognizes so many dreams.
The enchantment of her radiant light
Reveals why she is the Goddess of Night.

Tracie, thank you so much.  The vision speaks for itself.

A nice visual you have presented here Eloise...

"The night draws a curtain down over the sky."

Eloise, each line is lovely, but this one sends me.

I love the night, the moon and the peacefulness of this poem.

Eloise~
I love this !
It's beautiful !
Anything about the moon inspires me !

Goddess Of The Night
do your magic on me
Hold me enchanted in ecstasy
Until curtains of the day
close in on your beams
Hold me closely
in slumber of dreams
O' Goddess Of The Night

Thank you for the inspiration !

I must admit, Eloise, that from the title I was expecting a dark poem but your words have brightened my day. Thankyou.
