a life
one million miles away
from these hands

I busy myself with
pointless chores
and wasted moments
that add up to
nothing

I read until I can't
see anymore

I swallow the
lump
in my throat

all to keep running away
from the memory of your
voice

to try and drown the
taste of your breath
to conquer every
I love you
you ever gave me

before it conquers me
