Glorious sunrise
filling the heart with promises
warms the day with hope

a wonderful haiku, you would not believe that I was trying to count the syllables to see how a haiku is written. I wish I was joking but I am not. I think I will stick to free form. LOL

Brian:  Haikus are more difficult to write than everyone thinks, I agree with you!  Keep praticing though, I am sure that your haikus will be brilliant in time.  For some reason, Haikus, senryus andtankas come easy to me, but, believe me, when I first started, they were difficult to not only do the correct syllable count, but to say something of value or intelligent with a unique twist in only a few words.  Thank you for your endless support!  You're always one of the first poets to reply to my haikus
