Time stopped for them for a while,
Again their lives had fused,
But this time it was different,
Neither could take another emotional ruse.

They'd their days in the sun,
A love such as theirs almost holy,
To much too handle, their love a tempest,
They decided it was better to bathe in melancholy.

Too hard to describe a love such as theirs,
It took every fraction of their emotional strength,
Too tumultous, too passionate,
A love knowing no widths or depths.

A love bigger than 'Gone with the Wind',
Too much for even them to understand,
Instead they walk seperate paths now,
Across a silent, lonely land.

They are still together,
Where it matters - in their hearts and dreams,
For a love such as theirs,
Is not as innocent as it seems.

Another time, another life,
Things might work out differently,
But in this sphere, this time,
Their love simply wasn't meant to be......

Isis,
This is so sad and so beautiful! So tragic ... I do hope it was not about you!

Lots of emotion in this one...this poem totally reminded me of the time my wife was having an affair with a millionaire from Argentina and she told me she was going to take the kids and move to Argentina.
He sent her a letter with a picture of his wife and kids and told her he must stay with his family and perhaps in another life or another time they would be together...James

Isis, This poem shows there are many good things coming out of Australia.
I loved it, sound a bit like my daughter.
Be well
