--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i speak in written word;
my lips, no sound may utter--
though in my silence
i may be found,
my soul in mortal mutter.
you may fail to hear me
if you close your eyes--
you must look beyond the sounds
and become mesmerized.
silence from my lips;
my heart believes in time--
the time it takes to form
the words
in the straightest line.
deep beneath the brightest smile,
and underneath the tear
is a story
or an explanation
i wait for you to hear.
so hear me with your eyes,
hear my written line;
in my silence
my words were aging--
as the finest tasting wine.

This is so.. good, there isn't a word to describe just how good. Fantastique, is the closest I come to describing it I suppose. But it still seems that it's not praise enough. You know I love this right?

dgvarner, well, great sentiment, lovely piece, gets my vote easily. Although I had a little trouble with line 10. It said lips, so I was looking at your pic, and got lost in a daze, cause it said....
and become mesmerized. So I was and now, so I wondering how they taste with wine. I must be drunk with lips..... Well great poem... and very red. So I vote for the poem or the lips or both
