Jeweled sunstones in the air. Horizon mirrors reflect refreshment. Quicksilver cloudhead, falling. The slowbreathing murmur of storm. Sweet smell rising to become the clouds. Themselves to broken pavement. Rain blossoms starting to fall. Suspended just above me Like invisible ghosts of steam Mixed with rainswollen glass. Sparking, alone, near me. Then the final first rush As rain slaps through the sky To lift the ground from its heat haze I felt part of it all. |
