Mist rises from the tumbling water,
Dusting pines with shimmering grace,
Stripes of colors in pastel arcs,
All disappear at the waterfall's base.
On the trestle off in the distance,
An iron horse breathes spires of steam,
Walls of the chasm carved through all time,
Form a frame for this perfect scene.
Standing amidst all of this wonder,
Undisturbed here by the progress of man,
In awe of this natural beauty,
I slowly drink in all I can.

Bonnie I wanna be where you go! This is an awfully serene piece! The closest I get is my own backyard. But that too can be a wonderful place to be! Spent some time in it tonight I did

Your work is alway excellent! I found something out last night...I see you've been a resident poet! I didn't know that!  Good going!

oooh...!  Sounds like a place one should be at!!    I only hope that someday I'll be able to find a place similar to that!

Becky - I live only a mile from Letchworth State Park, around here it's called the Grand Canyon of the East....it's a beautiful place with 3 separate waterfalls.  Thanks for reading, and as always, for your kind reply.
Artist - Thanks so much for reading, appreciate the reply.  Bonnie
