Football fever has flown away

Football fever has flown away
And the summer sun's come out,
Wives are more cheerful now
And kids as always, a gleeful lot.

Happy days are here again
And the barman is happy too,
No hooligans and no brawls
Mirth is back in its form true.

Weekend days seem much nicer
Brightly dry, quite a lot warmer -
Evening breeze cooling tempers
Cola and ales make life calmer.

The pub's full of pretty young girls
Clad in a minimal summer attire,
Clamouring for their eyes' attention
Boys seem to be invigorated by fire.

The days are surely more enjoyable
With sunny skies clear in deep blue hue,
Butterflies and birds fly merrily around
As football fever's flown away like the flu.

Hey there Sudhir
Great fun poem
The title drew me in as it's the finals series of our aussie rules football and me having been born and bread in the heart of the aussie rules football nation I love my aussie rules and my team has made it to the final rounds ending the season second on the ladder.
GO BLUES!!!!

Sudhir, I've been watching the Buffalo Bills at training camp, just getting ready to start their season...Go Bills!!!(ducking here to avoid getting hit with rotten tomatoes) And I am sure when the last game has been played, the thoughts you have written here will be felt all around.  This is wonderful.  Bonnie
