Every moment every detail
Of our contact oh so sweet
In the passing of each hour
Through my mind will oft repeat

Every drop of raw emotion
Be it joy or be it pain
Join together in a torrent
Quench my soul like gentle rain

As the turmoil slowly settles
Like the calm before a storm
Rise an inner peace so swiftly
Leaving thoughts all soft and warm

Like a river gently flowing
Free from all the strife within
Touch our souls so very lightly
Slowly let the dance begin

Thank you all for the wonderful welcomes and words of encouragement. Not only is this my first post, but also my first ever attempt at poetry.

The verses simply flowed as an expression of emotions, but it was very scary opening those emotions up to public scrutiny.

Thanks again.

James,
Thanks for the kind words. I am tempted to say "Call me Mr Smooth" but that might detract from your meaning.

Very nice indeed! Welcome to this haven for Romantics.
I've always thought that there is something magical about the dance. You have woven that magic into an incantation. Well done.
