Rose-Coloured Glasses

They don’t understand
That you have hung the moon
You take me higher then a hot-air balloon
When we make love in our private lagoon

They don’t see
Your game of deceit, is only an illusion
To add to the confusion
But I know, love is the final conclusion

They think
You, I can not trust
That it is simply lust
Be rid of you, I must

I know
You’re nothing but heartache, alas
My misery you push till surpasses
But not through my rose-coloured glasses

marina-girl.. i LOVE this one.....
the rhyme and rhythmn of it is perfect and that first stanza is awseome...
its emotionally perfect too...poetic ending.
take care, jm

...when you walked into the room, I saw their faces,
you made it feel like time was standing still...and I felt fascination...
then you turned and smiled in my direction...
and my heart...gave me away.

Marina,
I think that I'm beginning to like this "other side" of you. . .

Another song comes to mind. . .
      "But these Rose-colored glasses
         that I'm looking through
       Show only beauty,
but they hide all the truth. . ."

Wonderful poem Marina. . .

-Marina

This one really pulled at my heartstrings! I liked the simple flow of this. poetic perfection if you want my opinion!

Jm, thank you very much....I'm glad you liked it.

Danny, I think far to many of us see love through rose-coloured glasses.  Thanks for the post.

Sven, what OTHER side?  Are you hinting that perhaps I'm not sweet and innocent?

Thanks Denise.

Amy I definitly don't think It's perfection but thanks very for the vote of confidance.

This poem is so true, I think we all wear rose colored glasses when we're in love.

Hoot you are very right.....thanks for the post.

Liz, I think it can be sad but true.  We often don't see people for who they really are sometimes.  Thanks for the compliment.

Sven, I think you could sweet talk your way out of anything by using your flattery.  Well not with me....even if it is the truth! Now you know I'm joking!

James, all your life eh?  May I suggest a good optometrist for your problem.....Ha Ha

James I think you are very right.  Judging from your new poem, I'd say you know exactly where I'm coming from.
