Something New

Have you ever considered, in this world so littered,
When you do something,
it's done somewhere else,
By some other person,
at the same exact time,
Writing the same rhyme,
Commiting the same crime,
We try to be unique, but our options grow weak,
When you weep, others cry harder still,
When you try, there is another with a stronger will,
Loving the same love,
Worshipping the same God above,
Why are you content with being so blind,
As to think you will make a significant difference,
There are so many people out there, I repeat,
And an elite few you wont meet,
With record breaking feats.
You are but a strand in a grain of sand,
In an endless desert of myriad mirages,
Performing the same syphonies,
Eating the same things,
Watching the same shows, faces everyone knows,
This very rhyme people inside must have found,
Repeated, mused, jested the world six times around,
This hard fact of life shines a sad light but true,
As billions of people look for something new.

Funny that you wrote this poem, this was a topic of a conversation of mines a few days ago. We are unique in our own way, but identical when it comes to tasks and fuctions that we do, I wish all people would realize this. Very good poem, It makes a person ponder? Keep up the good work.

This is a big world and yes, there's probably someone who looks like me, thinks like me, writes, acts, dreams like me. We are all human afterall.  However, we are also unique in that noone has my personality that alone is me.  Noone has my thoughts. What is also unique is the things I can do that hopefully will make this world better and maybe have my name attached to it. Then I will have somehow served mankind by my mere existence.

Someone once said, "be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity".
If everyone would seek their victory, to what heights could we raise humanity.
Well, off this soap box I come.  Thinking out loud.
Enjoyed reading this piece.  Thought provoking for sure.

words that don't make you feel so alone and make your toubles seem not so large when you know others share the same or far worse a comfort at times when we choose to remember...but most times we choose to forget.  I enjoyed your work very much...just as others around me did

Welcome and enjoyed the read.  Searching for more of your wise words.

  Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence.
