Some one once told me that I can create my future,
That the world is my oyster.
But how can this be,
When all I do is give up things for others,
My time, my money, and whatever potential I posses,
To send me in a pre-planned direction?
Why do are these rules so?
And why is it that no one breaks them?
No type of authority can imprison you for doing what you want …
… can they?
Is that why we all live like we do?
Like sheep,
Each one different, but all there for the same purpose?
And the only freedom we get is up inside our skulls.
***
I think it’s time for a revolution.

The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face.  Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition.

**Enola,
First off, I love the Henry Miller quote!

Mainly, once again, you have posted a wonderful inciteful poem. You asked me where mine 'all comes from', well I'd like to ask the same question!
Your poetry speaks absolute volumes to me and as long as you keep posting at Passions, I'll always be reading.

The revolution will be ours!

Well, what else can I say apart from thank you, it's nice to know that people feel the same way.  Before I joined the family, I wasn't all that sure about showing anyone what I'd written.  The understanding I've had here has been great - not just from you two, but also everyone else, lol.

People have considered me "revolting" for years... hasn't done any good yet!
Valid thoughts here. I say, (and do) break the rules. What the hey? Better yet, make new ones that you like. Trends always start somewhere!

Is revolution the solution?
Do we not imprison ourselves with the "have it all" mentality and then blend into society and live out our lives trying to have what the jones have.
Freedom has a new definition, and it starts in the mind for sure.
Interesting piece you have written.

Were do I volunteer! We need a revolution! I've often thought the world needs to be taken over by the 'nice' people for a change!

Nice people - Where ? I don't get the chance to meet many, but I think that if all the 'nice' people in the world all ganged up on the people who make the rules, I still think we'd win just because of our inner strength, resentment, understanding and comeradship, I'll join this army of lovers, friends, fighters and most of all family of poets .
MARCH ON SWEET FELOWS, FOR THE END IS NIE  AND AS THE BEGINING OF THE REST DRAWS ON TOWARDS US WE GO FORTH IN SPIRIT BUT NOT IN MATTER TO SLAY OUR SELF-INDULGENT FOES . IN BLOOD AND IN GLORY THE HONOUR IS OURS AND WE AS WRITERS, MUST EXCEPT THE DUTY OF CARRYING FORTH THE MORALITY OF HUMAN KIND .

L.Of.L Tom .
