In the space between moments

A fleeing arc of soul
Captured with a quiet tear
Stranded from the world below
By enlivened fear.

Physical scars now healed
For bruises fade away
Although the past is sealed
The spirit's pain does stay.

Simple trust is shattered
The world now a somber place
Her memory lays scattered
Upon the bloody lace.

The angry words and shouts
Within her ears still ring
She knew without a doubt
The pain that he would bring.

Although his touch has faded
And he left without a care
Her dreams he has raided
For no child may she bear.

So within reverie she lives
Hiding from the night
No love will she ever give
For he has robbed her light.

"No love will she ever give
For he has robbed her light"

So completely tragic and yet, beautifully written, Alwye. Beautiful, accurate, so sad.

Such a wonderfully written poem on such a harsh topic.  Your skill and depth amazes me again and again, Krista.  Wonderful.

This is very nice, though sad
"her dreams he has raided
for no child may she bear".
"for he has robbed her light".
Hope that light returns.
