I still fear your wily wood
with paths that hint of Robin hood
your salute of snapping branches
and pray my vanity avalanches
it makes me glad of global warming
when threadbare leaves flash me warning
I tire of one more tepid view
another meatless Irish stew
and dogs that chase blooded foxes
return at night to tiny boxes
and plead for canine comprehension
and dream of getting some attention
jumping over rotten logs
and vanish into epilogues
then still you sprout your greenery
as if it means a lot to me
I'm unimpressed by foliage
and your assumed advantage
just give it to me without the dressing
you have my books and learned my lesson
I never drown in shallow water
and shun your drawn out liquid torture
stoop to condscend the words
and not a joke you overheard
I'll check for hidden fingers crossed
and the necklace for my albatross

 hello darkness my old friend

PatrickB~
There is a sing-song to this that
really captures me.
Wonderful message too.
I'm quite taken by the whole thing.
I want to return to read it ...
and I will.
