What is this thing called Love that Poets write so often about?  I have written a few things that certainly are important, and I invite each of you to add to this poem and define this "thing" called LOVE.

           Love
             is mystery
                with souls willing to discover

           Love
             is romance
                seeking acceptance of each other

           Love
             is trusting
                two hearts willing to share

           Love
              is magic
                 sometimes dreams are waiting there

           Love
              is touching
all the places within the heart

           Love
              is passion
                 burning desires eager to start

           Love
              is loyalty
                 a devotion for eternity

           Love
               is whispers
                 sweet promises of ecstacy

           Love
               is infinite
                 soulmates always being there

           Love
               is endless
                 if fate is playing fare

           Love
               is......

Love is understanding, forgiving and sharing...the peace thats found in just knowing others are caring...

Love is you, love is me...
love is the gift that sets us free...

a smile, a kiss, a touch, a tear...
love is the thing I hold most dear...

Love is giving all of you and asking for nothing in return.
Love is kissing your child`s owie and making everything all better.
Love is being able to say your sorry even when you know your not at fault.
Love is something that everyone here seem`s to have for one another.
I could go on and on and on and on..lol
Nice read Danny

Love is Patient,
Love is Kind.
Love is giving,
All that's mine.

Love is gentle,
Love is pure.
Love is something,
That is pure.

Love is not selfish,
Or quick to hate.
Love is endless,
There's no debate.

Love is taking,
What's not your due.
Love is not what,
Can be done for you.

Love is giving,
From all you've got.
The special things,
That mean a lot.

Love is strength,
To see it through.
In all you want,
And all you do.

Love is friendship
you hold in your heart

Love is constant
even when apart.

Love is knowing when to give in to the other person because you realize life is just too short to argue

Love is letting go, because you truly believe in it, and know that if its meant to be it will come back

Love is realizing that you don't control the other person nor they you...yet you walk together thru this discovery of life

Love is the union of two souls that would be lost without the other.

Love is acceptance, trust, understanding and complete honesty.

Love is not worrying about what the other person thinks because you realize that the outside appearance isnt what really counts.

Love
is the rain
that nourishes our heart

Love
is the sunrise
at each days new start

Love
is the breeze
as it whispers through trees

Love
is the force
That brings grown men to their knees

Love
is the sound
of a new babies cry

Love
is a hand
in ours when we die

Love
is a smile
that makes us go weak

Love
is the words
that we don't have to speak

Love
is the glue
that makes relationships last

Love
is our future
our present, our past

Love
  is pain
   when not recieved

Love
  is fear
   which is never relieved

Love
  is no one
   for me to hold near

Love
  is forgetting
what I used to hold dear

Love
  is cryptic
   speaking in riddle

Love
  is a triangle
   with me in the middle

Love
  is loss
   of feelings of security

Love
  is lacking
   any feeling of purity

Love
  is tears
   dripping down my face

Love
  is feeling
   like a total disgrace

Love
  is trying
   to hide the shame

Love
  is defeat
   in life's game

Love
  is death
   of all I have known

Love
  is nothing
like what I have been shown

~Love is a blessed union-
  A meshing of two souls,

~Love is in God's plan-
  Where all truths are told.

~Love is the unique semblance-
  A wonder to behold.

Loved the poem Danny!!!

Love is a hand
that reaches out
   to hold you
   to steady you
   to guide you
   to encourage you
   to congratulate you
   to comfort you

Love is not
a heart but a hand

Love is when the toast is burnt, the washer is broken, the toilet is stopped up, the dog is howling, you're crying your eyes out over it all....and your baby toddles over, pats your cheek softly, and says, "Luv woo, Momma..."

Love is that intangible
missing piece
that one day leaves us feeling
content and complete.

Love is bleary morning eyes that sees beauty in mussed hair. That smells roses on dragon's breath. That doesn't mind the smeared mascara that didn't all come off the night before. That sees the inner spirit, not the outer thighs. Love is the heart that can know all of your faults and love you anyway. Love is my husband. On Valentine's Day I was asked who was considered the world's greatest lover. I replied "My husband"

Love is beauty beyond the eye,
Cirrus clouds afloat on the sky.
A rainbow on your darkest day,
A touch that tells you, "it's o.k."

Invisible arms that keep you warm,
That hold you tight amidst life's storm.
A smile by the grace of dawn,
The sweetest vision ever drawn.

A fluttering heart, an gentle hand,
A soul you know and understand.
A wisp of dream, a priceless worth,
Love is, purely, Heaven on Earth.

Love is what we cannot see,
when what's not present speaks to me.
Love is doing without a desire
to recieve in return a gracious choir.

Love is chidren before our constraints,
sharing the soul with no complaints.
Love is neither here nor there,
yet love is the reason we are here!

Love is making it to the supermarket before they close to get beer...
A little humour. I couldn't resist!

I rarely repond to responses but in this case and because there are so many wonderful poems written on the topic of Love, I wanted to say thanks to all who responded with such beautiful poetry and all of your poetry deserves to be read, if sending this back to the top accomplishes that, all the better.
Thanks poets!
Danny
