The clock on the wall
Has the gall
To strike at my all
With its deafening tones.
If I held the key
To stop it, surely
I would, but see-
The answers don't seep into my bones.
Plagued in this room
Like a tomb,
I've met my day of doom
If I can't find my dreams.
Deprivation of sleep
Forces me to keep
My mind racing to the deep
Where there are no stitches and seams.
All hail to the procession
Of my confession
At your discretion
That venom feeds upon my brain.
Say anything you care to,
But I don't think its fair to
Taunt and tease or dare to
Let an honest woman slain.
As I cope with this madness,
You see the illness as Badness
And I find no gladness
In depending upon you.
And so, I withdraw inside
So you wont rape me of my pride.
It hurts that my trust has died.
But, I'm afraid it's true.
Not even Hell knows of my fury,
Though, you have no need to worry
That my vision's become blurry
Because I always will survive.
As sleeplessness invades my head
I toss and turn upon my bed,
And wonder if I'll end up dead
Of this disease keeping me alive.

An irreplacable thing when the trust is gone from the relationship, hope things get better for you real soon!!

Trust is a precarious thing Pixie. Both hard to earn and hard to hold, it is much harder to earn back once lost. I pray I never lose yours.

Honey I learned this lesson too, if they can't stand by you in illness they never, ever will.  Be strong like in the poem, it'll get better.  ((HUGS))

The depth of emotion and heart expressed in this piece of art is palpable.  Not only are they words on a page, they are breaths inhaled and exhaled...they are a camera on the wall, taking it all in....thank you, for allowing us in....and know my thoughts and prayers are with you.

This is a magnificent piece of writing. I can feel the pain when I read it. Very well done.

This was a powerful piece of writing -- at once startling and familiar.  Well done, and my best wishes to you.
