Good morning, my friends!

I know I haven't posted here in quiet a while. But, then I haven't been writing, either. I do still come in a read, even though I may not leave a comment. I guess I should atleast let you know I was here. Anyway!

We had to take mom back to the hospital, yesterday. She was complaining of chest pains and difficulty breathing. I called the doctor before taking her this time, because she has been to the E.R. 3 times, since Thursday. She is appearantly worse than I even knew. He told me to take her back to the hospital. He also told me that she has no lungs left, which I took to mean that they are so bad that they aren't working anymore. And, that's the reason they told her previously that there is nothing wrong with her. When the truth is, there is just nothing more that they can do for her. I am so upset, because previously mom was give a nebulizer to use at home, as well as oxygen. Well, after a few days, she sent the nebulizer back, saying she didn't need it, that it wasn't helping her. I don't remember if I told you or not, mom has had COPD, Asthma, and Emphyazema. I didn't know just how bad her lungs were until yesterday, when I talked to the doctor. Everything I have tried to do for her, she has found some reason why she can't do it. She has refused to take medicine the doctor prescribed for her, because she always looks in her pill book and reads that it may cause difficulty breathing. Or, that it may cause constipation. Originally, her oxygen was given for her to use at night when she is sleeping. But, for the past few months she has been using it day and night. Of course if she had kept the nebulizer, she might not have had to use it so much. I don't know why I am telling you this, except that I am really worried. I am at a loss as to what to do? It seems my hands are tied.

Love and Hugs...Sue

Your poor mother is in so much pain, Sue, and I know this from personal experience with my father. There is not much one can do, when you cannot dissolve the pain. I will keep her, and you, in my prayers.

HI Sue,
Understand this from my Mom as well.  You and your family remain in my prayers.
May His arms be around both of you.

It is a horrible day when we find ourselves helpless, so your Mom is in the right hands for sure.  I will wish her less pain, and also less heartache for you Sue.  You will both be in my prayers.

Thank you all for your prayers. It just breaks my heart to see her like that. It is rather difficult to work and be there for her, too. But, I am trying so hard.

My mom went home to her maker in 1996, after COPD took it's toll on her, so I know what you're going through, Sue.  It's not easy to see one suffer, yet I feel it's our Lord's way of readying us for their departure.  Although their loss is deeply felt, there's relief to know they are no longer suffering.

Remember, our Lord only expected you to be one human being, Sue.  Please rest in that and let the rest be up to God's will.  There is nothing we can do to prevent our loved one from passing when the time has come, so just spend what time you do have praying with them, loving them and assuring them all will work out for the best.

God bless you and yours,
  Rae
