All right, guys, consider the following:
What do you do when you are getting to know someone via e-mail, and all of a sudden they stop writing to you? And they haven't been visiting the site that you met them at either (which happens to be this one)? I haven't heard from this person for about a week. Have any of you had this happen?

Yep...but it could be several different things. Most common reason would be work. If they are working contrary hours or more hours, or have even landed another (second or third) job, then they may not be able to contact you as per normal.
Also, personal. Have they had a death in the family? Are they on vacation? Did they lose internet connection? Did they move? Was their computer stolen? Are they seeing someone? Many, many, many reasons for why they aren't meeting as they used to.
Of course, there is one more, but it is harsh. It could be that they just don't want to talk to you, not that I could understand why.

Just my two cents...

BTW...when you get your page up and running, feel free to link me, and I will do the same.

Thank you for your reply Alicat. I don't think this person would just decide to up and drop me-they didn't strike me as that type-so I give them the benefit of the doubt. As mentioned before they are a user of this site and they have not visited here recently. If not for that, I would think they were avoiding me. But who knows?

I've had this happen...I was corresponding with a guy in South Africa...one day, he just never responded...2 months later, he sent an e-mail to me saying he'd been robbed and it took that long to get replacements!

Don't give up - continue to send e-mails if you want - if the person wants you to stop, they should tell you!

Just wanted to let y'all know I did receive an e-mail from my friend today...thank you both for your answers. And, Poet deVine, was that story he told you really true? Just wondering...

Yes, I believe him....but I must tell you I am VERY skeptical of people I meet on the net!

Mind if I take a moment to step in and tell you a story I heard? I have long since forgotten who told me this, but this friend of mine told me that another friend of hers who moved to the U.S. had told her a story about while he was living in Australia. Here goes.......

He was living next doors to a guy who had a big house, like a mansion, and there was a fence around it, and a guard dog. He was looking out his window one day, only to find police cars in front of the mansion, and later, the police went away without finding anything. About a year later, the guy living in the mansion was digging something from the ground, and the neighbor came over.. He asked what the other guy was digging. The guy told him that he had robbed a bank the previous year, and had buried the stolen money in the ground. The guy moved away a few days later.

It does sound like a story made up. I have some deja vu feeling from when she told me the story, that it was true, somehow. If I could remember exactly how I could tell it was true, I would've pointed it out right away. That's the story for today, tall tale or not. It sounds so phony, but just as customs and tradition varies in the world, so does situations. And agreed deVine, I can be skeptical of the Net. It is like trying to judge somebody through their own words.

I have a tale to tell that would curl your hair...about deception of the highest magnitude. I'll try to put it into words and either post it, if I'm brave enough, or send it to you in an e-mail.

I would like to hear the tale too, deVine.
