The sun is brightly shining and the air is almost warm.
I'm counting the casualties this new day after the storm.
Mother Nature threw a tantrum, her temper can be vile.
And now in sweet contrition, she is turning on her smile.
The little birds have reappeared, looking to me for food;
Ignoring the grim aftermath, today another mood.
The chrysantemums with valor, beginning to arise,
The dahlias, defeated, are signalling their fast demise.

How many storms have I battled, alone since you've been gone?
How many troubles have sought me, without you to lean on?
I'll walk my acre alone today, picking up debris;
Remembering those loving arms that would have sheltered me.
I, like the lovely mum, am determined to stay alive;
With this strong house you built for me, assurance I'll survive.

Joyce Oct. 21, 2000.

And so you will Joyce, I'm sure of it.
A lovely read.
We could all take lessons in adversity from the smallest of God's creatures.

Isn't it amazing the tender and delicate perception of all life when one is made aware how easily any and all can be taken.

Joyce:  Wonderful comparison here!  So true to heart!  I shall ponder these words for a long while...

I've been through these storms, thank you for this one!

Dear Joyce:  Storms, no matter how bad, do pass after a certain period of time. There  is sunshine ahead.
