If I should gain etemal bliss, these are the things I'd do. I'd want to be held in your arms a thousand years, or two. An eon listening to your voice won't be too much for me As we drift along your river towards a heavenly sea. Of course I'd gaze with happy heart at water, tree and hill, But of looking at your smiling face I'd never get my fill. I'd love the bird songs on the air and stars that fill the skies, But better still would be your songs and brightly twinkling eyes. I'd listen to your stories then, and laugh at all your jokes. I think we'd have such a great time, we'd pity all the folks Who chose some other heaven for, not knowing what they'd miss, They'd find some lesser happiness and think that it was bliss. |
