i fell to sleep
in your arms

far away from
the truth--
yet a breath away
from lonliness;

in my mind
you pulled me close
and held me there

you warmed me
with your presence

you inspired me
with your very existance...

i fell asleep
in peaceful ignorance

...of the lonely truth

Dreams can allow us a little respite from the harsh realities of life sometimes, can't they?

Very nice!

hey, thanks guys, for your comments

debbie..i only wish dreams lasted a little longer sometimes..

kaile..extra thanks to you    i think i'm better at the short-and-sweet ones--sometimes when i write long poetry, i just keep repeating myself, and never quite get the point across!

thanks again all of you for your replies!  dg
