Pearls of wisdom fall from the sky
to be drown in the waters of neglect.
Lost souls seeking purpose
call for them to rise to the surface.
I once swam here in the womb
with a lullaby of complete bliss,
now I retreat from the river's edge
fearing I may drown undertow.

Dust dances quietly, hardly noticed,
over the forest canopies of Sycamore.
The leaves sway, lovingly against
my naked self, hardly noticed for though
it's a gentle pleasure my thoughts are elsewhere.
In the dawn of day, I set out over
the lake as I progress to bear witness.
Over me, all crawls silent.

I consult the sun to discover
if I have ever lived or only
imagined my existence.
Memory betrays as a kaleidoscope
of fading dreams breathing in frost
for so long that nothing feels real.
A frozen kiss drags me below water
I close my pearl eyes forever.

Ohmygosh...once again, I find myself trying to pick my fav stanza, and indeed, I must highlight the whole thing!  There's magic in every line!  Your imagery is among the best here...your metaphors are worthy of endless applause.  Don't tremble from my warm replies either, you silly man.  I have no alterior motives.     I saw your reply to Sven's poem!  ROFL  You just happen to be one of my favorite male poets, that's all.  Your words are pure metaphor magic.  *sigh*
