What were you?
A genius
or a madman?
I thought you said
it all so well
in your lyrics.
I never thought you a God
just a man with a talent
and I liked to hear
the sanity in your
words...

Did your words
bury you?
Were you hailed
as a king of
mankind
only to be done in
by sheer humanity
I watched your
impudent slanders
as you put high minds
in their places.

What was sacred
Life...just life
nought else mattered
and as you sang
immortality
attached itself to your neck
they misunderstood
you, or were you
just a scoundrel
skin and bones, you were
just a man, after all.

We are all just humans, flesh and bone, but as humans we have the potential to be so much more.

an interesting poem, I take it someone used poetic licensing and coloured the truth. enjoyed the poem.

Jana : This sounds like something I would write for a certain Mr Zimmerman.

Who's your man.

Like it!
