Living Dying
What's the use
I hope God's got a good excuse
His thinking seems a bit obtuse
To me

Wars are raging
Rivers'dead
I'd like to know what's in His head
Maybe.. He wants us seeing red
So He

Can Come and say
'I told you so
now pack your bags'to hell you go
you've wrecked my garden it won't grow
J.C '

His son comes in
Bows his head
'you never listend to what I said
even my church is acting dead
not free'

Then I shout 'God
you've changed your tack
our free will.. you've took it back'
He'll get mad and in storm clouds black
I'll flee

You see God's all POWERFUL
This I've learnt
And if you want your fingers' burnt
Just try to tell him what you've  LEARNT
You'll see

Jon Mewett

One afore I go
This ones for the road
Drinks' on me...Cheers

Funny how when you think you've learned something somehow the rules change and you realize you didn't know all that you thought you did

Very well written

I like the way this is written too Jon.  We are always questioning.  Human beings just have to know ALL the answers.  I personally don't believe we get our "fingers' burnt" when we tell Him what we've "learnt", but differences in beliefs doesn't take away from good writing, and, that is what this is.  See you on the flip side Jon.

Excellent idea in this poem. I think we all should stop and question why these things are happening. But don't you think blame is wrong..God gives us free will..we choose what we do.... just a thought!

Wow, this is one to keep me awake at night! Kinda makes you think! Great job on this, Jon! And thanks for the drink, but I'm a minor so I'll just take a beer...root beer, that is!

Again, great poem!

I wouldn't mind taking you up on that drink offer and we talk about the ideas in you poem, some of which I myself have pondered many many times. I'm not religious but have done a lot of thinking and reading about all kinds of religions and I still have waayyy more questions than i do answers. But I guess the only thing to do is to keep looking.
You expressed your ideas wonderfully in this poem, Jon. Good work!

Improbable Converstation, that's for sure! I've always wondered why the world in general blames God for the problems that the world creates. God is certainly all powerful as well as all knowing but most importantly all loving and forgiving! And as PdV said, we all have free will. We can all choose the path we take for our own betterment and for the benefit of our fellow man. It is truly up to us! Pretty awesome responsibility He has given us. Let's make the best of it!

If we'd only care a bit for one another and show respect. What a better world this would be. Liked this a lot Jon.
