Where Life Began

Biologists think we come from tadpoles
And its apes in Archeology
Astronomers say we came from star dust
And that's really O.K. by me
For it really doesn't matter very much
From what our lives began
As long as God breathed His life into it
And from that created man.

You are so right Bob.  No matter how He did it.  He did it. There has been an on going debate in letters to the editor in our local paper on this subject.  Nobody changes anybody's mind.  I even added mine, hoping that would be the end of it. I think I have published this in Passions, but here it is just for you.

Creationism or Evolution

May I add my bit to the big debate?
Are we but just a trick of fate?
Or did the Great He, man and woman create?

The creationists say and believe it true,
That God created me and you,
In His own perfect form, nothing else would do.

He made us a world, a perfect fit,
Until we wrecked it quite a bit,
And now we don't know how to rescue it.

But the other side will happily state,
We've just moved up from the nearest primate.
A more important question for me and you,
Is "What are we evolving into?"

These different ideas are intriguing, but I like the Bible's version best!

Trillium,

Yes.... the Bible is preferred over the Scientific Method in our household as well.

Walt,

I had Cult. Arch.  (Cultural Archeology) a couple of semesters ago and we actually studied a chapter on Religion near the end of the book.  It was way cool.

Thanks much for both of your comments.

I totally agree with your poem.  If there was a big bang, God made it!  No other belief holds such respect for human life and it's evident in the goings on.

Amen!!  Really doesn't matter how really, although I like the Bible account best, the important thing is it happened!

Bob; I have to add my two cents to this.  If we believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and the final authority; should we not accept what the scriptures say about creation? We are told God created man in His own image; and from man, took a rib, to create the first woman. That's good enough for me.  In my opinion, it takes more faith to believe we evolved from an ape, or from a big bang, etc.  Thank you for the poem you have written on this.  Wanda

Alan,

Amen.  God's way is the WAY.

Sandgrain,

Yes, the "Big Bang" is the most accepted theory in Cosmology as to how the universe began with many tangable and measurable proofs.  It is a very exciting adventure to study the stars and not compromise my Biblical beliefs.

Rodney,

Yep, we know in the beginning....  GOD.   (That has and never will be disproven.)

Lone Wolf,

Kinda funny ait it.  Mankind has spent millions if not billions of dollars on science to figure out the origin of mankind when all that needs to be done is to look into the Word of GOD for answers.  Thanks for the reply.

Wanda,

The Word of GOD is a book of Faith... and we are a people of great Faith.  Science is quite the opposite.  Science for the most part is based on obseravation.  Our greatest Faith comes from believing in those things which we cannot see.  Like we believe in the miracle just around the corner but we have no evidence except by the confirmation that we accept by Faith which was given to us by GOD through prayer, fasting, and His Holy Word.  Thank you for your reply and I have been enjoying reading your poetry.  -Bob

This is what I was taught, too. Nicely done Bob! I agree with these thoughts!

God bless America, my home sweet home.
