I have looked,
but not found the oneness that surrounds;
fallen in despair I turned around
and saw her grace standing behind me
with a gentle hand on my weary mind
an enlightenment of the tattered soul;
what is this gift that I don’t deserve?
When I have fallen in disgrace,
how can I accept amazing grace?

Looking for grace--
but I have not seen the oneness that surrounds;
fallen in despair I turned back around
and saw her grace standing in front of me;
outstretched hand that benevolently waits
for acceptance of the gift that soothes;
sweet balm on my soul that is sorely bound
in the twin chains of hopelessness and despair,
that can not see the patience of amazing grace.

Seeing grace—
but I have not approach the one that surrounds;
fallen in despair I can only deny what is around
seeing not the countenance of radiant grace;
blazing gift of serene love that waits
with the knowledge that the gift is wasted on
one who does not believe that she can be freed;
cast down in grief and sorrow abound
to walk desperately away from amazing grace.

Welcome to Passions.  A phenomenal image of Grace.  So true, during these fallen times in hopelessness and dispair, His Grace becomes ever more evident to give desire and ability to continue.  Bob <><

I have to add in too that this is beautiful!
Only point I don't agree with. No matter if you walk away or not, the Gift is never wasted! For we all fall short. Undeserving we are, but wasted it's not.

I hope to see more from you! I enjoyed this immensely!

The will of God will never lead you, where the grace of God cannot keep you.

I would like to thank all of you for your warm welcome and kind words for my words.

Whtdove, you said, "No matter if you walk away or not, the Gift is never wasted! For we all fall short. Undeserving we are, but wasted it's not"

quote:
with the knowledge that the gift is wasted on
one who does not believe that she can be freed;

It not the matter of falling short where the narrator perceives the waste.  It is that if there is no belief at all or one will not except what is being offered and then walks away, then that is the waste.

I guess I interpreted it in more than one way.
I did see what you were saying but I also saw it another way as well. Thanks!  I agree.
