Death of a Soul A common misconception People have about our soul They think it is tormented And will burn out of control God is not a tormentor This is not the natural way To let a soul keep burning In hot fires everyday For those who are to perish They will have their soul consumed They are blotted out and gone And their life won't be resumed For instance fat in fire When it drips and sizzles there Rises up in smoke, it's gone It's just like the fire's flair It don't continue burning But forever up in smoke It's nothing more than ashes To be like a burnt out oak There is no more existence You will simply cease to be In this there's no rejoicing There will be no jubilee It is a sad occasion When that day will come to be But God will take remembrance Dry our tears and set us free Free living without evil As it will exist no more We're set upon new journeys Eternally to explore [This message has been edited by WhtDove (edited 07-30-2000).] |

I love it! Very well written! "There is no more existence You will simply cease to be In this there's no rejoicing There will be no jubilee" God Bless "Of all those arts in which the wise excel, Nature's chief masterpiece is writing well." ~Essay on Poetry, John Sheffield "Those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; run and not grow weary, walk and not be faint." ~Isaiah 40:3 |

Well said. I agree with you totally!! Only He can set us free. Love that line. Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Read through this quickly last night but had to reread it today when I'm more awake. Nice work. It's almost inconcievable to think of life with no more sin. It's like trying to fully understand God's awesome love, so far reaching. Thank you for sharing this. |

This misconception came out of the medevial church. I for one believe that it is eternal seperation from God that is the horror of hell. Can you imagine being in a place where God is not-- since God is everywhere present? It is written that God is the God of the living and not of the dead. But it has to do with what 'dead' really is. I think Yeshua give us a glimpse when he said: 'let the dead bury thier dead'.. to wit, that's what they call dead. In my mind it is seperation from God. Thanks for the thought provocation. |
