Being lazy, flopped on the settee glass of Chablis in my hand
three or four candles for lighting and the crescent of the moon
Bocelli singing "Dream" as snow falls like tears before my eyes
losing myself in the flames from the fire in this lazy warm cocoon

Somehow the night is magical or maybe it's just me it's so peaceful
traffic is quiet even the pub makes no sound or at least to my ears
Snoops stretched before me contented with only a twitch of a whisker
somehow it feels like it's him and me alone in this wide hemisphere

If only I could transport this feeling to others who may need it
some kindly thoughts, a loving wish or maybe a Rainbow hug or two
Christmas is such a special time and the atmosphere in my village
imagine Charles Dickens and take a peep through my eyes at the view

Last week was the Children's carnival and merry-go-rounds were set up
children dressed in Victorian gowns and made up as well, cakes to sell
made by them but of course with mother's helping, butcher selling game
it's like a fairy world brought to life or maybe just so I could tell...

Well, your description of the night is certainly magical, Rainbow. I think Bocelli could sing in the middle of a garbage dump and turn it into Eden. The picture you paint is exquisite!

RainbowGirl -
Sounds so serene and lovely.

Bocelli's Partiro playing here.
No fireplace as the night is just perfect.
Florida has no snow to tease me,
(thank goodness)
but the fireflies light the yard with
their little 'flashlights' and the
stars twinkle as though to outdo them.

Thanks for sharing your 'fireplace' with me.

My friends: It's snowing again and yep, I know it's 3am but I just love the snow so much, so I just tossed Snoops out and raced him round the garden and now's he's in front of the dying embers and I'm drinking cognac.. and in answer to your question, yep, the more the merrier, come early enough and we can decorate the tree togther, Christmas Eve 8pm onwards..deal?

HUGS all

One smiling Rainbow.

Yes, I can picture this so well.  For me Bocelli and Romanza please, and maybe a Heineken.

Beautiful poem and beautiful music Rainbow ...      ... I like your musical taste ... Snow was falling here as well this morning before dawn over a black and sleepy city ... not quite like your countryside, but lovely sight as well ..

I found a Calvin & Hobbes poem and with one word editing it fits Snoops puuurfectly ...

Snoops sprawling in the sun!
Fast asleep, his day is done.
Lying here, 'twas warmth he sought.
The sun has made his tummy hot.
One sad fact he overlooked:
His brain is now completely cooked!
