In your eyes I can see your soul.
In your heart I can see love.
But in all my gazing,
I can't find myself anywhere.

From you, I've been locked out;
Your heart is the gatekeeper.
It says that I'm not allowed back in,
Seems I caused some damage last time I was there.

I tried to sneak back in.
I climbed the walls of insecurity
And banged on the door of rejection,
But it didn't matter. The fortress was locked tight.

The gatekeeper was touched by my effort,
And went to the Queen
To plead my case for re-entrance.
The Queen refused.  She had had enough of me.

My heart ached.  I cried and cried.
After I cried I soon realized something;
The Queen was right.  I knew in my heart
I could not be let back to her.

Sometimes we get hurt because we hurt ourselves
From getting ourselves into things that aren't right for us.
When we accept we've done the right thing,
Then we can move on.  Then we can love again.

I can love again.

 The truth will attend to itself.

Positive outlook here!  Great work!

Again, Selah, you are a great writer. Two thumbs up for you. And once again, your poem has an eerie reality to it. Keep up the good work.
