I am secure enough in myself
to be able to accept where I am.

I know that I don't have to
follow the crowd.

Or be someone I'm not
just to fit in.

In the end,
God won't care

About the clothes I wore
or the guys I dated.

He'll judge my heart.
His eyes see deeper than yours.

Because I know Him
I don't have to pretend.

Hs love is truer
Than any worldly love.

I'll spend eternity happily
because I am secure today.

Melissa-
I think that you're poem is beautiful! I know exactly what you mean, too.
Sometimes we try too hard to do the things that really don't matter in the end. All that matters is who we are and how pure our hearts are and we'll be okay. I'll look forward to reading more of your poems!

Very well said and so very true. I wish more young people learned this early. It generally takes many years and many disappointments to come to this conclusion. Well done.
