I bring to you my issues,
the past that causes my pain,
I bring with me my faults,
all that put me to shame.

I drag along the baggage,
that I've been carrying for years,
I trip along my chains,
that hold down all my fears.

I warn to you that I am lost,
confused more than most,
you assure me that you care,
but not understanding enough to boast.

I blind myself with tears of fear,
choke myself with words of hate,
life seems to be getting so heavy,
I make mistake after mistake.

But somehow you persuade yourself to stay,
see me through all my pain,
I know that without you my world would be dark,
nothing would be the same.

How did you deal with all my faults,
overlook the confused mess that is me,
How did you break all my chains,
and make it light enough for me to see?

You came in so casually,
but changed my life in a flash.
You rebuilt all my confidence,
that I managed so quickly to bash.

What made you decide to help,
what made you love a person like me,
why do you think I'm so great,
is there something here I cant see?

I thank you for all you've done,
you stuck by when I needed it so bad,
of all the people that have come into my life,
you've been the best I've ever had.

It would be an understatement to say I love you,
because simple words just cannot say,
the truth is that I cant be without you,
I realize that more and more each day.

But sometime I know it will end,
and we will go our separate ways,
it is the inevitable truth like all others,
But the hurt and the pain will not phase.

We have a bond like no other,
so when it is time that we must go,
we will make it thru as best friends,
and continue our never-ending show.

No matter who says its time to end,
I will love you till I die,
I will remember you as must first true love,
and always think of you as mine.
