Wanting to hold you so close to my heart
I can’t find the words to go back to the start
We began in the middle and reached a quick end
But I want to say now what I couldn’t then

Your eyes are like mirrors to my very own soul
I was only half, your love made me whole
You were my lover and very best friend
The one source in my life on which I did depend

Your voice was reassuring in the darkest of night
Your laughter so joyful in the bright summer light
Your smile as radiant as heaven above
And nothing to me sweeter than your feeling of love

Wanting to feel your lips on my cheek
You were the happiness I always did seek
And from the first day our emotions just grew
Until I thought of nothing but you

My darling believe me where ever you are
You are my only wish when I see the first star
Your life was ended just far too soon
It’s like replacing the sun with the shadow of the moon

So I’m sorry I never did get to say to you aloud
How being with you made me so very proud
I was too busy enjoying the warmth of your touch
The very one I now miss just too much

This is supposed to be a goodbye for you
But Goodbye is something I just cannot do
So smile where you are dearest, I’ll join you someday
In a place where happiness can forever stay

And until that time I’ll remember what we shared
In the many ways we showed how we cared
And my only regret is that we ended too fast
But still shared a love to forever last

Wanting to hold you I bid thee farewell
And to our unborn child this tale to tell
A fairy tale love with the sweetest end
A new baby to love, my new very best friend.

Very moving...so sad, but there seems to be a glimmer of hope. A phenomenal piece, azblond.

This one brought tears to my eyes, Az. Well done.

You did a great job writing this, as I am sure tears had to be flowing from your eyes as you wrote down each and every beautiful memory of the man you loved. You were blest to be given a gift of love that the two of you shared.
