shall I proclaim our love to the highest pinnacles of the earth?
shall I shout my adoration, undying, from the cliffs edging the sea?

my tongue longs to speak of the beauty of love's rebirth
my lips long to cry out, telling of the harmony twixt you and me

my heart bursts forth in a chest so confined by duty's grasp
as my love for you goes undeclared; unspoken; unrealized

for we hide the flower of love under a shadowed glass
I long for nothing more, than to feel your eyes gaze into mine

to speak your name without the hushed tones of secrecy
and to let the light of love burn, in once hurt-darkened eyes, for all to see

That was simply beautiful. What else can I say. You really moved me with that one and
being the hopeless romantic that I am, it will stay with me forever. Thank you for sharing that with us.

Deeply touching poem about forbidden love.
The secret it must remain because of "duty's
grasp"....great work.

Again, Izzy, you hit the jugular. I have named a chord in my heart after you because you have struck it so many times. Nicely done!
