A topic close to my heart. I once had to take on a personality of one who has gone through the episode.
This is what I came up with. The dates and Amounts are fact. The "Fat" was put there by me.
A.

" A mere 150 pounds my family was given for the killing of my husband, and the imprisonment of my person.
I am Elizabeth Proctor. Wife of John Proctor. No matter that my husband was a big man, in more than one way, and no matter that we were good people. They came.
Mary, ahw, sweet Mary who told a lie, and my husband who could not keep his tongue. He was tried before the court on August the 5th. He was found guilty, no matter what we said... No matter what I did. He would not say that he is doing the work of the devil, nor would I.
They came to hang him on 19th Of August. I was to hang beside him... But, I was with child, and hence they could not do that. I watched my husband die. My two sons watched, and my unborn child experienced it through my anxiety. I was lucky, I was. It all ended, and I was excused and set free... But too late. I had already lost my husband. And now, they come to pay my family 150pounds? Is that enough for the life of my husband, the suffering of my person and the time lost with my children?"

Ardonida:

I know the story you describe fairly well and I like the point-of-view you adopted.  I'd like to see you expand on the idea a little bit and give us some good drama to chew on.

Great writing!  I don't think that much was enough though.  HOpe to see more from you!

I wish I had seen this before, Ardonida. You did very well with it, taking the point of view of a human being who went through something terribly wrong and tragic.

And the saddest thing about it is that it still goes on to this day.
