As one of darkness is cast into the shadows where it rightfully belongs the one of light blooms in the foreground. As one rose opens to the sun, the other dies, and as it withers in darkness, the other grows strong with the coming of night to give life unto its lover.

One hopefully does not exist without the other.
And as one of darkness is cast into the shadows where the other sets forth into the sunlight.

Is this image of our souls? Are we born into this existence of flesh and bone,
are mere spirit of what we must become. Some souls are of a nature of darkness and some are of the light.

We can not live without the other.
We are not complete without our Soul Mate.
We all seek forever in this world,
But first we have to find what is missing within ourselves.

We seek to fill the emptiness inside,
To fill the happiness void,
To learn and trust each other,
We have to forget the past,
And remember everyday is a gift from God,

And tomorrow there is always hope,
Our dreams we hope to share.
Love we hope to find.
In given time.

I like what you have to say here...call me partial for sharing a similar perspective.

I think a good direction to look for improvement might be to move away from the straight, conversational voice into something more visual and rhythmic.

Again, I enjoyed reading this. Words of wisdom... thanks.

Lori, this read more like a work of prose than a piece of poetry, especially the first half of it.
